How much is it to hire one of the Avalon Centre rooms?
It’s €20 per hour to hire a room at the Avalon Centre. Please see our ‘About’ section for more information.
How do I refer someone to the Avalon Social Day Centre?
A public health nurse, GP, occupational therapist or other healthcare professional may refer you or your loved one to our social day centre. A referral form must be completed and forwarded to ‘Older Peoples Services, Markievicz House, Barrack Street, Sligo’. See the section on our social day centre in the programmes tab for more information or to download a referral form.
How do I register my child to attend the special needs programmes?
We can only accept children onto our special needs programmes on a referral basis. Referrals are accepted from the HSE Children’s Disability Services, located at Nazareth House, Church Hill Road, Sligo. Please contact your child’s relevant member of the Children’s Disability Network Team to discuss a referral. Are there any spaces in the Bright Minds Preschool service?
Our preschool currently full to capacity. Your child must be 2 years and 8 months to attend. Email our preschool coordinator Magdalena for more information or to join the waiting list.
Are there any spaces in the Bright Minds Afterschool service?
Our Afterschool is currently full to capacity. To join the waiting list, please email afterschool@theavaloncentre.ie.
Does the Avalon Centre provide the National Childcare Scheme?
Yes, children availing of our preschool or afterschool services can be registered on NCS. Parents must provide a CHICK number for their child at least one week prior to their child’s commencment on these programmes. More information on the National Childcare Scheme can be found here.
